Thankful for Scarves!

Photo

Here is a scarf that came in the mail today – beautiful work! I believe that the lady who sent it learned about Threads of Compassion OKC by the news interview that happened months ago. It’s so cool how technology makes it possible for people from all over the place to participate in this project!

Lighting for the laundry room!

Our laundry room is between the garage and kitchen. It’s not much wider than a washing machine, but the light switch is on the wall just inside the garage. This means that when I go to do laundry I can’t hit the light switch with my arms full of clothes.

So, Morgan fixed it for me! (he’s really good at that).

Here is the original switch (that was on the “wrong” side of the room when I’m trying to do laundry.

And, here is the new motion detector switch! It doesn’t matter that it’s on the far side of the room because it turns on automatically when I walk toward it. So cool!

Not only is it great when I’m doing laundry, but I’m looking forward to it lighting my way once I start parking in the garage.

It’s amazing what a good difference a $20 part and a handy husband can make!

Reading with Friends!

Photo

A recent Saturday our friends invited us to join them at Barnes & Noble. Their daughter’s school was having a fundraiser where the school got a percentage of the day’s sales from customers who mentioned the school. We couldn’t pass up a good excuse to browse for books, so we headed out there Saturday morning. Morgan is pictured with some of our sweet friends – various teachers from the school came and read children’s stories. He joined in to listen with our friends.

This particular family has been a great blessing to us – it’s one of the great things about Oklahoma! -Jessica
